Swiftlet farming can be described as a passive source of income if done right in the very beginning, with minimum overheads.  There are many successful swiftlet farms in Malaysia especially in areas in or close to agricultural and forest land, rivers or ponds, with relatively low levels of industrial activity.

Such places are conducive for swiftlet farming since farms, plantations and jungles support the swiftlets’ staple diet of flying insects while the absence of factories in the vicinity means clean air which is immensely important in attracting the birds to nest in that area.

Many swiftlet farms in Malaysia can be found in Perak, Pahang, Kelantan, Terengganu and Kedah.

The comparatively low start-up cost coupled with the hugely attractive returns make swiftlet farming an extremely lucrative form of passive investment.
